- Don’t wait to get an internship start as early as high school
- internships lead her to where she is today
- Go into school/college/business with a plan
- “It’s never too early”
- It took her 6 years to be a full time entrepreneur, she worked at temp agencies and in retail at lord and taylor in the shoe department for 3 years.
- She had 3 internships
- The key to sacrificing and not loosing sight of her goal and vision while working another job was GPS - God’s positioning system
- She recommends reading “The Energy Bus" by John Gordon
- She slept on cousins couch for 7 months working everyday to chase her dreams and bring her company to fruition
- Surround yourself with positive people and those who are movers and shakers,
- Going to church helped her stay motivated
- To work with her agency an artist needs to have A) A Plan B) A purpose C) Their own machine going = A following
- She took her unemployment checks and reinvested them into her company
- Understand the power of internships, Her former intern who is now an employee started working for free from paris and is now on monthly retainer and commission. (It took him over 4 months to work with her)
- Taking advice from her husband who is a proven businessman has taken her business to the next level (He is her Silent Partner)
- When she went to places that she wanted to work that were in her line of work she would ask them if they needed help and what could she do to assist. She would also name drop to make herself relevant but it started with her work ethic and making herself present.
